About Me

My name is Barbara and I am 31 years old. I currently live in Rochester, NY working for both an orchestra and a health club. I grew up near Seattle, WA until moving to Rochester in 2006 for graduate school. It was there that I met Andy (my husband), and we have stayed here ever since.

I have a wide range of interests, and since I love making lists so much, here they are - list style!

- Exercising
I'm really up for anything, but tend to go in phases of what I like to do for fitness....boxing, spinning, zumba, yoga/bikram, and running to name a few. Running is most dear to my heart though, by far.

- Healthy Food
... most of the time. I try to be healthy, and thankfully I like foods that are good for you. But I also have quite the sweet tooth, so "baddies" wreak havoc on my diet every once in awhile.

- Organizing/Planning
Few things make me as happy as a crossed-off list or basking in the glow of a completed organization project. That moment of satisfaction... of feeling uber productive... it's the best.

- Saxophone
I started playing the saxophone when I was 11 years old, and needless to say... I'm really good, lol. The saxophone became my passion when I was in the 9th grade, and I saw it all the way through to getting a masters degree in saxophone performance from the Eastman School of Music.

- Reading
I've liked reading ever since I learned how to read. I'm pretty much always reading a book, and my tastes range from young adult post-apocalyptic science fiction to autobiographies to books on health and fitness. I'll pretty much read anything.

- Shopping
I admit it... I love to go shopping, especially for clothes. Do I need more clothes? Absolutely not. Do I want more clothes? All the time! My favorite stores are Nordstrom and LOFT.

- Kate Middleton
I love her. Enough said.

- Non-human primates
In addition to my saxophone performance degrees, I also got an anthropology degree focusing on biological anthropology - aka monkeys. They are always my favorite to watch at the zoo.

- Washington State
My family moved to Washington when I was three, and except for a short 7-month stent in Pennsylvania, I lived there for 20 years. I love visiting my parents in Washington. The evergreen trees, the water, the mountains... nothing beats it, and it will forever, no matter where I live, be my home.

I know, I know... I sound weird, and I kind of am, but that's what makes me so lovable!
